Drakenstein Stud’s exciting young stallion One World came up with a pair of impressive two-year-old winners at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Sunday.
Notably, One World colt Dreamworld became the first black type winner from his sire’s second crop when he ran out an eye catching winner of Sunday’s G3 Winter Nursery (1100m).
Under Gavin Lerena, the Vaughan Marshall trained colt was always up with the pace in Sunday’s contest.
With 200m left to run, Dreamworld continued to gallop, and the colt pulled away to score a convincing one length win.
The Winter Nursery was a good result for One World, with the latter also the sire of fourth place finisher Orbit.
Bred by Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm, the colt has won twice from three starts, with Dreamworld’s sole defeat coming when finishing second in the Cape Racing Sales Cape Slipper.
Dreamworld, who is out of the Oasis Dream mare Dream De Ra, was a R650 000 buy from the 2024 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.
His G1 Sun Met winning sire One World also looks to have a promising two-year-old filly to his name in the form of She’s My World.
The latter caught the eye when storming home to claim Sunday’s Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m) by three lengths.
Trained by Justin Snaith, and ridden to victory by Richard Fourie, She’s My World had finished second on debut, before finishing fourth in the Listed Heineken Summer Juvenile Stakes, and runner up last time out.
Bred by Dr Thomson, She’s My World is out of the Querari mare Lana Belle.
Her sire One World was South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2023-2024 and is the Leading Second Season Sire of 2024-2025.
