Drakenstein Stud’s very much inform sire What A Winter looks to have another smart prospect to his name in the form of Whatever Next.
The East Cape Champion 2YO Colt/Gelding of last season, Whatever Next made it four wins from just six starts with an eyecatching win at Fairview on Monday.
Having his first run as a gelding and as a three-year-old, Whatever Next flew up from the back of a quality field to win Monday’s Tellytrack.com Pinnacle Stakes (1100m), and will be high up on bookmakers’ boards when they open the betting for the R900,000 Ready To Run race to be staged over 1400m at Kenilworth on Saturday, 30 October.
Trained by Alan Greeff, the What A Winter gelding was ridden to victory by Greg Cheyne.
A R100,000 purchase from the 2020 CTS Ready To Run and Unbroken-Two-Year-Old Sale, the Alec Foster bred Whatever Next has already doubled his price in stake earnings.
He currently tops the log for the 2021 Ready To Run Stakes.
South Africa’s Leading Sire of 2YOs of 2020-2021, What A Winter has eight lots on the 2021 CTS Ready To Run Sale.
