5th WINNER FOR ONE WORLD

6 February 2024

Drakenstein Stud’s exciting young sire One World came up with a fifth first-crop winner on Tuesday when his son One Stripe romped home to a brilliant win at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.

The R1.4 million sales topper at the 2023 Cape Racing Ready To Run And Unbroken Two Year Old Sale, One Stripe had made a promising debut when a close-up fifth on his only other outing and duly built on that effort with an impressive win on Tuesday.

Trained, like his sire, by Vaughan Marshall, One Stripe was quickly away in Tuesday’s RaceCape Powered By Hollywoodbets Maiden Juvenile Plate (1200m). When Bernard Fayd’Herbe asked him the question, the exciting colt quickly put daylight between himself and his rivals and drew to win as he liked by six lengths.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, One Stripe is out of the Silvano mare Silver Stripe.

His sire One World was Equus Champion Older Male of 2019-2020, with his ten wins, from just 14 starts, headed by a triumph in the 2020 G1 Sun Met.
Out of a mare by Giant’s Causeway (also the broodmare sire of outstanding stallion Gun Runner), One World is one of more than 100 stakes winners for his outstanding sire Captain Al.

One Stripe joins the likes of Lion Rampart, Sahara Cat, Fine One and debut winner Address The Nation as early winners for One World, with that champion son of Captain Al currently heading South Africa’s First Season Sires premiership for 2023-2024.

One World, who is currently second on South Africa’s Leading Sires of 2YOs table, has 11 lots on offer at the upcoming Cape Yearling Sale.
