GET UP AND DO IT!

28 April 2026

Craig Zackey and Sean Tarry combined to win the R250 000 TAB Gr3 Pretty Polly Stakes at the weather-delayed Championships Finale at Turffontein on Tuesday with the Drakenstein bred and raced What A Winter filly, Get Up.

In a competitive nine-horse race, the promising Get Up produced a favourable result for Pick 6 players

Drawing clear of her opposition over the final 300m, Get Up (11-10) drew clear to beat Lady Harlequin (25-2) by 3 lengths in a time of 65,13 secs – a marginally faster time than the males, a half hour earlier.

A Daughter of What A Winter (Western Winter), Get Up is a half-sister to the well-performed Snaith galloper Malmesbury Missile and is out of the Grade 1 winner Gabor, a daughter of the ill-fated Kingsbairns.

Now a winner of 2 races with a place from 3 starts, Get Up took her earnings to R252 938.

Falling short of the projected R3 million, the big day Pick 6 reached a nett R2 017 893, no doubt as a result of being rescheduled to a working day.
