SIXTH WINNER FOR ONE WORLD

9 March 2024

Drakenstein Stud’s sensational sire One World came up with his sixth first-crop winner when his son World Of Pleasure justified tote favouritism to score at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.

Second and third respectively in his two previous starts, World Of Pleasure was sent off a 5-10 favourite for Saturday’s Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (1400m) and he duly lived up to expectations.

Under Bernard Fayd’Herbe, the Vaughan Marshall trained colt proved far too strong for his rivals, with World Of Pleasure romping home to break his maiden by an emphatic three and a half lengths.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, World Of Pleasure is out of the Visionaire mare Royal Pleasure.

The promising colt was a R325 000 purchase from the 2023 National Yearling Sale.

World Of Pleasure joins the likes of G3 City Of Cape Town Cape Of Good Hope Nursery 1-4 finishers One Stripe and Lion Rampart, and classy filly Sahara Cat as exciting early winners for Met winning champion One World.
The latter, a son of outstanding sire Captain Al, also made waves at the recent Cape Yearling Sale when his sons Godric Gryffindor and Undivided made R900 000 apiece to jointly top the sale.

Himself a former Equus Champion, One World has 23 lots on offer at the 2024 National Yearling Sale.
