TRIPPI COLT LANDS WSB GUINEAS

8 June 2020

Drakenstein Stud’s champion sire Trippi was responsible for a 76th stakes winner when his regally bred three-year-old son Wild Coast won the G2 World Sports Betting Guineas at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.

Trained by Justin Snaith trained colt, one of two Trippi sons in the 2020 WSB Guineas, showed his class when running on strongly to get up in the shadow of the post, under jockey Donovan Dillon, and win going away.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, and a son of multiple champion Beach Beauty, the progressive Wild Coast has now won three of just seven starts, and he looks a hugely exciting future prospect.

Bred on the same Trippi/Dynasty cross as G1 Gbets Cape Derby runner up Charles, Wild Coast was a R2 500 000 buy from the 2018 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Trippi, whose high-class son Gold Standard stands alongside him at Drakenstein, is the sire of more than 150 black type horses with his progeny including such notable G1 winners as Inara, Chimichuri Run, Deo Juvente, Lobo’s Legend, Afrikaburn, For The Lads and R Heat Lightning.

Also broodmare sire of current US sire sensation Not This Time, Trippi has four lots on offer at the upcoming Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, with his draft including a filly (Lot 239) out of G3 Strelitzia Stakes winner La Pucelle, a colt (Lot 260) out of G2 winning millionaire Louvre, and a filly (Lot 455) out of a stakes winning own sister to G1 winners Nania and Red Ray.
